Light after rain
After rain, familiar materials take on a different presence. Stone becomes darker, bark gains contrast, and small patches of sky appear in puddles. Even an ordinary street offers a new set of reflections.
Look for reflected colour
A wet surface can borrow colour from a nearby tree or building. Move a little to either side and the reflection may change completely. The most interesting view is not always the first one.
Keep the frame simple
For a photograph or a sketch, one reflection and one clear edge may say more than a crowded scene. Watch your footing, stay clear of traffic, and let the weather set the pace.
